Why Network for Women in Policy (NWIP)?

Pakistan lacks a supportive environment for women in leadership positions. Women make up more than 50% of the population; however, they are underrepresented in all fields of endeavor. The irony of the situation is that women are underrepresented at all levels of the pyramid; the battle is just as fierce for those at the top. In particular, the system has a myopia; the institutional procedures do not fully acknowledge the participation of women in decision-making.

OUR MISSION

We will focus upon multiple categories of Women in Policy making, with the mission that they are crucial for incorporating a balanced gender lens in policy and eventually for formulating holistic policies.

OUR VISION

A vision to address the complex and multifaceted issues Women in Policy face. From this forum the women categories will:

  • Voice out their set of vision
  • The impact of gender diversity in policy making
  • The formal & informal change that they desire to take place in their institutions
  • The challenges that they face and how do they navigate through them?
  • How to incorporate the DEI concerning Women in Policy?
  • The magnitude and level of women’s participation that is needed?
  • What is the set of solution & the way forward for Women in Policy?
